Year One 101 Workshop Series
We’ve organized five workshops to encourage Seniors to start identifying those strategies and tools that will work for you after graduation. Each workshop lasts 90 minutes, dinner will be provided, and, due to the limited space, registration is required for all five. Complete the form on our Questions? page to indicate other topics that you would like to see.
Year One 101: Talking about Transition (February 18th)
In small group format over dinner, you will meet with Wake Forest alumni to talk about success, meaning, purpose, balance, and making the most of the transition from college to post-college work and life. Registration Required.
Year One 101: Strengths for Post-Grad Success (February 25th)
In this workshop, participants will review the CliftonStrengths assessment and discuss their results. This assessment helps you to discover what you naturally do best and encourages you to develop your greatest talents into strengths. All registrants for this workshop will receive a complimentary access code to complete the CliftonStrengths assessment. Registration Required.
Year One 101: Post-Forest Finances (March 4th or March 18th)
In this workshop you will explore topics ranging from insurance and taxes to saving and retirement, the importance of making and keeping a budget, and identify tools and resources to get you started. Registration Required. Both sessions cover the same content.
Year One 101: Post-Forest Resources (March 25th)
In this workshop you will learn tools and strategies for taking care of your mental health post-college, how to find counselors and other resources in the “real world,” and talk about the challenges and importance of self-care as an adult. Participants will also be led in a discussion about how to find your people after moving to a new place. Registration required.
Year One 101: Life as an Alumnus (April 1st)
In this workshop you will hear about the unexpected ways a Wake Forest degree continues to benefit you for the rest of your life. Learn about when and how communities of alumni gather and milestone moments you can look forward to once you graduate and join the alumni family. Registration required.
